There is something about the last of anything.
Last meal, last romance, last breath....
Last show.
After fifty two years as the longest running comedy duo in history, the Smothers Brothers bantered and bickered for the last time on Sunday.
Bittersweet, it's hard to know what to think or feel when you are witnessing the end of an era; an era of comedy marked by controversy, bravery, integrity and commitment:

When the curtain closed I was still tapping my feet but it was my heart that was still.
Will the Smothers Brothers be remembered? Will their legacy be honored? Will my grandchildren grasp the enormity of their contribution to American comedy?
As I said earlier, it's hard to know.
I'm grateful they're still here.
